A little off the beaten track, but a hidden little gem. The rooms are a little on the small side, but cosy and clean. Very friendly staff and food is second to none - home cooked excellent tasty and good choice.

Quite contemporary B&B. Food good - breakfast plentiful & very tasty - Dinner too was tasty. Staff helpful but not "in your face". Ensuite small & the tiniest handbasin ever - but bed was very comfortable & good flatscreen tv.

Great value room, nice people, lovely spot. Our superior double was roomy with a really comfy bed and chaise longue to boot. Were very well looked after, staff couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast relaxed in pleasant dining room. Gorgeous little village in quiet corner of the Lakes.

Excellent food in outskirts of Lake District. Stayed here as part of a walking holiday and it was a real find. Lovely welcolme and lovely room but the food was something special it was as good as any restaurant. Lovely decor in the bar.

Lovely place to stay. We stayed at the Crown & Mitre Inn for one night to celebrate my husband's birthday and to stay the following day to walk the fells nearby. Clean and fresh room, very helpful owners and friendly staff and smashing food.
